Ruth Rierson to celebrate 94th birthday

Lela Ruth Rierson of Leon will be turning 94 on June 28.  Her maiden name is Pennington.

She was born in 1918 in Washington, moved to Oklahoma at a very young age and traveld with her family in a covered wagon to Kansas when she was 4. She was married to Fred Rierson and has lived in the area since. Her late husband Fred and her raised five children southwest of Leon on a farm and now Ruth has many grandchildren.

This year for her birthday her family plans to celebrate with cake and ice cream.
