  • Dear Editor,

April 26, 2011 our granddaughter died, possible murder. Daughter to Chelle Gomez.

Raymond, Margaret and Chelle Gomez had a meeting on the 27th with the chief of police and city manager of El Dorado over the circumstances of Chelle's daughter's death. The response of the city manger and chief of police was inappropriate concerning the circumstances in the death of Breanna Gomez.

The injuries that occurred did not appear to support the theory of a suicide. But there was no other investigation to the events surrounding her death.

The grandparents and mother were dismissed without any explanation as to why there was no further or more complete investigation of Breanna's death when there was apparent evidence that this was not a suicide.

Raymond felt he was insulted and belittled in his meeting with these two individuals and wants closure for the death of his granddaughter.

Sheriff Kelly Herzet would not investigate the concerns for the grandparents over the death of Breanna Gomez.

Around the middle of May 2011, Raymond went to Sheriff Kelley's office to inquire if he would investigate Raymond's granddaughter's death due the injuries that Breanna had sustained at the time of her death.

On the third time Raymond went to Kelly Herzet and asked to investigate Breanna's death again, Kelly Herzet told Raymond to leave his office.

It appears that with this much doubt in the death of a citizen of El Dorado, that there would be a little more concern and compassion in finding the facts so that justice could be served for Breanna Gomez and on behalf of all the citizens of El Dorado. -Margaret Gomez, Chelle Gomez, & Raymond Gomez, El Dorado
