Virginia Swalley died Nov. 14 in El Dorado. Born Virginia Nina Davis on Dec. 11, 1925, she was the first of three children born to William Edwin Davis and Hester Anna Wheat. For much of her childhood, Virginia, her mother and brothers lived in Richland, Mo., with her uncle and grandfather. In 1941, Virginia was married to Ralph Cash with whom she had two children, Ralph, Jr. and Linda. After World War II, she moved to Kansas, where she met and married Oklahoma-native Jack Phillip Swalley in 1948. They lived in Hoisington and later Kanopolis, where they owned and operated a salt company. In the 1980s, Jack and Virginia moved to Springfield, Mo.; and have lived in El Dorado for the past decade. Virginia had six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She is survived by her devoted husband of 64 years, Jack Swalley; daughter, Linda Cauble; and son, Ralph Cash.
