EMS to host all-school assembly for Black Heritage Month

El Dorado Middle School will be hosting an all-school black heritage assembly for Black History Month this month.

The event will begin with a group of sorority girls from Wichita State University who will perform a “step show” and talk to the students about going to college.

Following them, a gospel group from Emporia will provide two renditions, then EMS students will put on a dramatic presentation and “Walk Together” through history.

A special guest for the event will be Miss Kansas Sloane Lewis, who will play the piano and talk to students about what Black History Month means to her.
