Remington Boys fall in substate final
The Remington Broncos opened substate play defeating the Bluestem Lions 54-39.
Caleb Tanner led the Broncos with 22 points. Grant Claassen had 15 points including three three pointers. Paul Janzen added 6 points, Caleb Entz had 5 points and Kyle Regier had 4 points.
Bluestem was led by Travis Farthing with 14 points. Cooper Minnick had 8 points, Brett Elsen had 7 points and Patrick Hurd had 4 points.
The Lions finished with a 4-17 record.
The Broncos then went on to beat Garden Plain 52-47 to play Wichita Independent in the final.
Remington fell to the #1 seed 49-42 and finished a strong season at 15-8.
Remington Girls fall to Conway Springs
The Lady Broncos started substate play with a win over Wichita Independent 47-26.
The #3 seed Broncos were led by Kylee Schunn with 19 points. Kristyn Wedel had 9 points. Nicole Minder addded 8 points and Rachelle Thiessen had 5 points.
The Broncos would face #2 seed Conway Springs after they beat the #7 seeded Bluestem Lady Lions 67-20.
The Lady Lions finished the season at 5-16.
Conway Spring beat Remington to move on to the final 50-32 ending the Lady Broncos season at 14-8.
T-Birds Fall in early rounds
After beating El Dorado at home in an overtime thriller the Lady T-Birds squared off with Altamont-Labette County.
The #2 seeded Altamont beat the Lady T-Birds 55-38. Altamont went on to beat Chanute to earn a state berth. The Lady T-Birds finished their season at 11-10.
The Circle boys were beaten in their first game by Coffeyville falling 76-39. The T-Birds finished the season at 3-17.
Mustangs fall in the first round of substate
The Lady Mustangs lost to #3 seeded Caldwell in the first round of substate 81-22.
Tara Kemp had 11 points and 4 rebounds. Bayley Reiswig and Angela Merwin had 4 points each and Reiswig added three assists.
The Lady Mustangs Riley Batson had 2 points and 11 rebounds.
The Lady Mustangs finish the season at 4-17.
The Flinthills boys lost in their opening substate game as well falling to the #3 seed St. Paul 57-30.
The Flinthills boys finished their season at 6-15.
