Noble and Ida Mae (Foster) Waite married on June 30, 1940, will be celebrating their 70th anniversary. They were wed by Rev. Paul D. Womeldorf at the Foster home in El Dorado.
They celebrated with their family on June 4, when their children and close friends could join them and they could celebrate other birthdays and anniversaries.
Their children include Dr. David A. Waite and wife Nancy of Sammamish, Wash., and Stephen Waite and wife Pam of El Dorado.
They have four grandchildren, Jerry Waite, Derek Waite, Dr. Michael Waite and Brian Waite. Nine grandchildren, Benjamin, Gage, Parker, Jenae, Bradley, Sunday, Emma, Evan and Levi.
During their retirement, Noble and Ida spend the winter in Mission, Texas. Noble worked for Skelly/Getty/Texaco Refinery for 40 years and retired as Operations Supervisor in 1977. Ida worked 26 years at the El Dorado Medical Clinic and retired as Office Manager in 1977.
