Delbert and Pat (McDowell) Varner of Towanda were married on July 24, 1959 in West Chester, Iowa.
They celebrated their 50th anniversary with a reception from on June 28 at the Wilbur Wiens Community Building in Towanda.
Their children and grandchildren hosted the reception, and requested that in lieu of gifts, donations can be made in honor of the couple to Circle District Educational Foundation.
Their children are Jeff Varner of Towanda; Calvin and Carla Varner, grandchildren Amy, Tara and Shelby of Towanda; Paul and Deb Rankin, grandchildren David and Sarah of Listie, Pa.; Janet Varner-Joyce, grandchildren Kayla and Tyler of Towanda.
Retired from 33 years as a rural letter carrier, Delbert still spends time working on the family farm in rural Butler County. Pat continues to stay busy with local church and community organizations.
Pat and Delbert also spend many memorable hours in the company of their grandchildren.
