The Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees announced Friday that Gayle Arnett, current vice president and chief financial officer at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital, has accepted the position of president and CEO when Jim Wilson retires in June. Arnett will assume the role on June 10.
“We (the board) have great respect for Gayle and are very confident she will continue to provide outstanding leadership at the Hospital when she assumes her new role,” said Mike Wheeler, chair of the hospital’s board. “Jim Wilson has done an outstanding job as the CEO, and we’re pleased that Gayle has accepted that position for the future.”
Arnett has been at Susan B. Allen since 1981 when she began as the controller. She became the director of fiscal and support services in 1989, and moved into her current role as vice president and CFO in 1996. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Healthcare Financial Management Association and the American College of Healthcare Executives. She is a past board member of the Bluestem Credit Union, past president of the El Dorado Rotary Club, current member of the El Dorado Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and current Budget and Finance Committee chair for the Partners in Education Foundation. Gayle is married to Mike and they have two grown sons, Aaron (and wife Ivy) and Austin.
“I’m pleased the board has shown the confidence in what we’ve done at the hospital for a number of years, and that they feel confident in my abilities to continue moving Susan B. Allen in a positive direction into the future,” said Arnett.
