Preparation work began on Monday, including turning off the utilities and removing some of the items to be saved, such as the tile Wildcat, which will be placed in the new building once it is completed. It is expected to take two to three months to compete the process to finish the deconstruction of the building.
After that, the land will be prepared for the start of phase two, which will include a new auditorium, lunchroom, commons and band and orchestra rooms. That work – part of a $19.14 million bond issue project approved by voters in 2005 – should be completed by the end of next school year.
