The cause of a fire that damaged a home near Fifth and Topeka Thursday morning is still under investigation.
According to El Dorado Fire Marshal Joe Haag, investigators believe the fire was not started intentionally.
At the time of the fire, one adult and three children were in the home. Two of the children were treated for smoke inhalation. Haag did not believe their injuries were serious.
“The house is going to be a total loss,” said Haag. “The fire appeared to have started in a bedroom on the ground floor.”
Although the fire was mostly contained in one bedroom and part of the attic, the rest of the house’s interior was damaged by smoke and heat.
Some of the exterior walls suffered damage as well.
