Grant, N.M. -

On Friday afternoon, Butler County Sheriff Investigators brought former El Dorado Correctional Facility guard Amber Goff back to Kansas from Grant, N.M.

Goff aided the escape of two inmates — Jesse Bell and Steven Ford — from the facility on Oct. 28 and is currently being held at the Butler County Detention Center.

The former corrections officer is expected to make a first appearance in Butler County District Court on Wednesday. Charges will be read and an arraignment date will be set.

Meanwhile, Ford and Bell are being held by New Mexico authorities to face charges of felon in possession of a firearm, receiving stolen property and resisting or evading a peace officer.

Ford also faces charges of aggravated assault with intent to commit a violent felony and tampering with evidence.

Butler County Attorney Jan Satterfield has reportedly supported the decision to have them tried in New Mexico first.
