ATV accident injures 14 year old girl

On May 25, Butler County deputies, along with EMS and Life Team, responded to the call of an injury accident involving an ATV.

The accident occurred at 6:52 p.m. at NE 140th and Munson Hill Road.

The operator of the ATV was a 14-year-old female of Cassoday. According to the report, it appeared  the ATV was eastbound on NE 140th when the operator lost control on a rough part of the dirt road. The ATV slid sideways in the roadway and began to roll.

The girl was thrown from the ATV and suffered a head injury.  She was not wearing protective gear, including a helmet.

Life Team landed at the scene and transported her to St. Francis Hospital in Wichita.

The juvenile’s parents were on scene upon the arrival of law enforcement.
