Barton Solvents will build a new state-of-the-art facility in the city of El Dorado’s industrial park.
David Casten, president of Barton Solvents, said all of the details are not yet finalized but El Dorado offered the best choice in terms of land, space and availability to rail and highway transportation.
The current Valley Center location will, most likely, serve as a transfer station. Employees and city officials within the communities of Valley Center and Bel Aire have been notified.
“First and foremost, we wanted our employees and their families, who are responsible for our quick recovery, to be the first to know our plan of action,” said Casten. “Ultimately, these new plans will create even more jobs. We’re very excited about the future.”
Barton Solvents credits the city of Valley Center for its ongoing support, and thanks surrounding communities – Bel Aire, Wichita and others – for their welcoming offers of relocation.
