El Dorado, Kan. - The annual Butler Benefit Auction raised a record $91,500 – $40,000 more than ever before – during “A Vintage Evening” April 25 at the El Dorado Civic Center.
More than 300 civic and philanthropic leaders were on hand for Butler Community College’s premier fund-raising event.
Now in its 11th year, the evening offers an entertaining setting for community leaders to support the mission and work of the Foundation and includes a silent and live auction, a wine reception and dinner.
“Everyone had a wonderful time and we’re grateful for the continued support,” said Stady Cofer, chief advancement officer. “We had new and fresh auction items, people who attended for the very first time and very generous bidders.”
This year, bidders engaged in friendly competition for top selling items such as a wine country trip donated by Frontier El Dorado Refining Co., a getaway to Hawaii donated by Dr. Steve and Nancy Latimer and an ultimate golf trip to Big Horn donated by Butler alumnus RD Hubbard and his wife Joan Dale. The Hubbard Foundation was the lead gift for the Hubbard Welcome Center scheduled to be built on the El Dorado campus.
The annual Butler Benefit Auction helps Butler Community College empower students for learning and life, supporting student success through scholarships, staff support, and advocacy.
