A late morning fire Tuesday caused about $15,000 damage to a house on North Ohio.
The El Dorado Fire Department received a call at 11:45 a.m. of a fire at 127 N. Ohio.
Upon arrival, the fire was already fire out the back window from the utility room.
Firefighters had it under in just a couple of minutes, said Capt. Ricke Whiteside.
The person renting the house was home at the time of the fire, although the children in the home were at school.
Whiteside said she woke up and smelled smoke, then called the fire department. It is believed the fire was caused by a dryer.
There was extensive damage to one part of the house and smoke to the rest.
“The utility room is pretty well gutted,” Whiteside said.
The renter was taken to the hospital with difficulty breathing.
