USD 490 approved a partnership agreement for a new copier service.
The district’s current lease with Xerox was up, and they had been looking at a couple of other companies.
“They (other companies) would do a fixed charge again that this is about the same charge as our existing lease which is about an $1,800 lease,” said Norm Wilks, director of fiscal services.
He said this would be an opportunity to save some money.
They were looking at a demo copier, so they had to make a decision at that meeting. The copier would be placed in the support services center, reducing the cost on a monthly basis of about $300, as well as saving another $300 a month by moving copies from other facilities to the central office.
“The bottom line is we can do it for less per month – significantly,” Wilks said.
They approved, 6-0, the purchase of Ricoh MP1350 through South Central Kansas Education Service Center.
The lease will start around April 1 and include all parts, service and supplies.
