El Dorado High School received the Apple Distinguished School Award once again for the 2010-2011 school year.
Terry Patterson, with Apple, was at the Feb. 14 school board meeting to present the award to the district.
There are only 52 schools nationally that receive this award and only two in the state of Kansas.
“I remember coming down here and I was so impressed,” Patterson said of an event he had attended in El Dorado. “The thing I remember most was the panel of kids up front and the audience made up of different districts, and I was just really impressed with how the kids communicated what they were doing with technology in the classroom.
“Because of that, it set the tone of what I communicate to other schools on what they can achieve.”
The award recognizes schools that demonstrate best using 21st century technology.
