“Alright,” said story time leader Teresa Leonard. “Let’s do our letter of the day. Does anybody know what letter this is?”

The children in the audience heartily responded with the correct answer, which was C.

Leonard then discussed several things that start with the letter C, including candy canes, crayons, cows, clocks, crowns, cats and carrots.

“I love carrots,” she said. “Does anyone else like carrots?”

For this question, she received a mixed response. After a short debate about the merits of carrots, the children settled in for several stories about cookies.

Next, Leonard read “If You Give a Mouse a Cookie,” “Who Took the Cookies from the Cookie Jar” and “The Gingerbread Cowboy.”

The children also sang with Leonard during Story Time.

At the end of Story Time, the children had fun constructing paper cookies.

“Thanks for coming to story time,” said Leonard.
