For years Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital has been known for its outstanding technology and its personal care. 

Those same qualities apply to SBA’s Home Medical Equipment Business, where staff provides more than just equipment.

“What really sets us apart from other medical equipment providers in the level of care we offer,” said Kim Nolan, RRT, supervisor of SBA Home Medical Equipment. “Because SBA Home Medical Equipment is staffed by both respiratory therapists and physical therapists, we’re able to fit the equipment to our customers and provide them education on how to use that piece of equipment.”

The SBA Home Medical Equipment business provides a wide range of medical equipment including bathroom equipment, crutches, walkers, canes, diabetic footwear, home oxygen and supplies, travel oxygen concentrators, portable oxygen tanks, nebulizer compressor and supplies, sports medicine supplies including knee and ankle braces and wrist splints. More recently, they have begun providing CPAP equipment, both for rent and for purchase. 

“After a patient receives their CPAP prescription from their physician, the patient can come to our office for the CPAP equipment and instruction by a licensed respiratory therapist,” said Nolan. “We also provide replacement CPAP supplies to any person who has a CPAP machine in their home.”

SBA Home Medical Equipment will be holding a public open house from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday at the SBA Medical Plaza Building, 620 W. Central Ave. Everyone is invited to come and look at equipment provided by the business, or to learn about how any of the equipment is used.  Also, staff from the SBA Home Health Agency will be on hand to answer questions about the services they provide throughout the area.  Light refreshments will be served.
