Everyone who comes to Butler Community College’s campus for a visit is now greeted by a state-of-the-art building that showcases what Butler has to offer.

“We have a really great group of people that made that happen,” said Foundation Director  Stacy Cofer. “But none of us would be standing here if not for the Hubbards.”

On Tuesday evening, donors and community members gathered at the Hubbard Welcome Center for a dedication ceremony. The guests of honor were R.D. and Joan Dale Hubbard, lead donors for the building.

“I want to thank all of you for coming out,” said R.D. Hubbard.

He reminisced about the time he spent at Butler as a student and expressed his appreciation for Butler President Jackie Vietti.

Also during the dedication ceremony, Butler Board of Trustees Chair Greg Joyce had a surprise for Vietti.

“The contributions were made to present the art in your honor,” said Joyce.

“I’m honored beyond works,” Vietti replied. “Thank you.”

She also expressed appreciation for those who made the dream of a Welcome Center become reality.

“We are so excited now to have this beacon,” said Vietti. “This building could not have happened without the support of all of you in this room.”
