Members of the Board of Trustees at Butler Community College gathered last week for their August board meeting.
Tuesday evening the board discussed approval of YE 2009 insurance premium quotations from ICI.
A brief presentation was given by Kent Williams, vice president of finance.
Earlier this month the board reviewed the policy quotes from ICI, Inc. that were available at that time.
They have since received two additional policy quotes, but have been notified that policy quotes for the Wellness Center and the Broadcasters Liability policies are not yet available.
The total cost for the insurance package excluded Wellness Center and the Broadcasters Liability policies.
“We do have an update total,” said Williams. “The total now comes to $346,036.”
The college’s EMC package totaled $155,548 for the 2007-08 year.
For the 2008-2009 year the total is going to be $1,066 less, making it $154,482.
Total premiums for the college in the 2007-2008 academic year totaled $342,387.
The college plans for the total premium in 2008-2009 to be $346,036.
The administration recommended that the board approve the insurance premiums from the Insurance Center, Inc. and the funding source for the premiums will be the college’s operating budget.
The board approved the action item, accepting the new totals for the EMC package and premiums.
