Once again, the Coutts Museum of Art will be hosting an Art Purse contest.
“Last year was the first year for the purses,” said Coutts interim director Terri Scott. “There was such a great response.”
There was originally a jewelry contest, which last year expanded to include purses.
The purses entered in last year’s contest displayed a wide range of imagination and ingenuity.
“You can embellish a purse or make one from scratch,” said Scott.
The part of the contest Scott enjoys is seeing the creativity of the purse designers.
“It’s fun to see,” she said. “There are definitely things I would never think of.”
Some of the purses will be available for purchase.
The purses will be on display at the Coutts from Oct. 15-30. There will be a reception at the museum on Oct. 15, and the awards will be announced at 7 p.m.
The entry deadline is Oct. 8 and anyone interested can enter. Entry forms may be picked up at the Coutts, 110 N. Main.
