The El Dorado City Commission will vote on a proposed plan to stimulate home development in the city during their meeting Monday.

This is a follow-up to the workshop held June 24 with the El Dorado Inc. Housing Committee to discuss ways to stimulate home building.

The suggestion the commission wanted to move forward on was to offer a program to pay the interest up to $3,000 on new homes that have been on the market more than 60 days, which was done in Harvey County.

McKibban suggested they do this for only six months to encourage quicker development.
In other business, the commission will:
•Vote on the Butler County Jail annexation.

•Set a public hearing for a paving project in Prairie Land Estates 2nd Addition.
•Discuss the hydro-electric generator.

•Consider the purchase of a track hoe purchase.

The commission will meet at 7 p.m. at City Hall.
