OBITUARY: Vernissa B. Pressnell Malone

Vernissa B. Pressnell Malone, 98, of Augusta, passed away Friday, July 16, 2010.  Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Headley Funeral Chapel.
Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery.

Vernissa was born in Minko, Okla., on Aug. 14, 1911, the daughter of Claude and Mary (Bailey) Briscoe. She was married to Alfred E. “Bud” Pressnell, Jr. and he preceded her in death. With her husband, she owned and operated Nu Way Cafe and Bud and Sis’ Cafe in Augusta.

She is survived by sons, Eddie Pressnell of Augusta and Claude (Pat) Pressnell of Wichita; daughter, Florence Daly of Marshfield, Mo.; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; adn two great-great-grandchildren. 

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the American Heart Association.
