Charles (Sonny) Houpt, 75, died July 17, 2010 in Valley Center. Services were help at 2 p.m. July 28 at New Hope of Valley Center, an independent living facility for the handicapped, with Kent Wagner officiating.

Charlie was born Dec. 24, 1934 in Chetopa, Kan., the son of Tula Marie and Lester Lee Houpt. He was a member of the Special Olympics teams several times a year. He loved WWE wrestling, Daryl Starbird Car Shows and old westerns.

Survivors include: Connie Graves and Laury Schuetz of Leon; Rhonda McAdoo and Joni Houpt of El Dorado; Ken Houpt II and Audie Ammons, Jr. of Everton Mo.; Mona Hiebert of Corona, Calif.; Debbie Parsons of Graham, Wash.; and Misty Houpt of Houston, Texas.
