Harold “Hudson”Couey, 81, a longtime resident of Wichita, passed away Thursday, March 4, 2010. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Monday at the Broadway Mortuary. Burial will follow at the Benton Cemetery, Benton. Hudson was born on Dec. 19, 1928 in Rush Springs, Okla. He was married to his sweetheart Virginia on May 1, 1949. Hudson retired from Safeway Grocery Store Company after 42 years of service. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Beulah and Claude, as well as three brothers and one sister. Hudson is survived by his wife Virginia; his son, James H. and wife Pat Couey of Towanda; grandchildren, Jeff (Kelli) Couey, Suzanne Musgrove, Jennell (Roland) Buchanan, John (Amber) Couey, Jimmy Couey and Jill Couey; and great-grandchildren, Olivia Musgrove, Cecilia Couey, Nathan Couey, Madison “Maddie” Couey, Noah Couey and Zoey.
