Robert E. Baker, 60, of El Dorado, died Saturday, June 20, 2009 at the Veterans Hospital in Wichita.

Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Carlson Funeral Home. Cremation will precede the services with interment at a later date.

He was born on March 16, 1949 in El Dorado, the son of Ercel and June Watkins Baker.

He attended El Dorado High School and served in the United States Marines.  Robert was a member of the VFW and American Legion. He was a retired oil field truck driver. Robert enjoyed riding 4-wheelers with his family.

Those he leaves are: his parents, Ercel and June Baker of El Dorado; two children, Raymond Wyman and Lorene Baker of Wichita; a brother, Warren Baker and wife Chris of El Dorado; sisters, Elaine Church and Daron Clinesmith of El Dorado and Annette Hearn and husband David of Eureka; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials for Hospice Care of Kansas, VA Hospital or the VA Hospice. These may be left with Carlson Funeral Home, which has charge of the arrangements.
