Douglas M. Pendergraph, 60, of El Dorado, died July 7, 2009. Services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Kirby-Morris Funeral Home. Cremation will follow the services.
Doug was born Sept. 28, 1948 in Durham, N.C., the son of Claude M. and Drucilla (Aiken) Pendergraph. He grew up in Durham graduated from high school and joined the U.S. Navy and served his country during the Vietnam War. After the service, he came to Kansas and was employed by General Motors as a line superintendant. He also had worked for Excel Linen. After retirement, he drove the activity bus for the Circle School District. He loved to play golf and garden and watch the Kansas City Chiefs and Nascar.
Surviving family include: his wife, Connie, and a daughter, Sara Baker, of the home; daughters, Michele Angell of Virginia, April Pendergraph of North Carolina, and Courtney Pendergraph of Kansas; son Douglas, Jr. of North Carolina; brothers, Robin and Jerry of North Carolina; sister, Penny Tilley of North Carolina; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
