Thelma L. Workman, of Concordia, died Saturday, June 20, 2009 at Cloud County Health Center, Concordia. Thelma was born Sept. 20, 1935 at Towanda, the daughter of Maurice and Dorothy (Whiteside) Starr. She was married to LeRoy Workman on Sept. 1, 1957 at Towanda. She is survived by husband, LeRoy Workman; daughters, Sylvia and husband Alan Schmidt of Mt. Hope and Valorie Starr and husband Daniel Callahan of Sterling; brothers, Ron Starr and wife Lois of Towanda and Gerald Starr and wife Sharon of Towanda; a sister, Loretta Lehman and husband Jerry of Towanda; and grandchildren, Marshall Schmidt, Monica Schmidt and Deirdre Callahan.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the First United Methodist Church in Concordia, with Pastor Sandra Moore officiating. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Nutter Mortuary, with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at the Towanda Cemetery.
