Betty L. Leedy, 80, of El Dorado, died Feb. 20, 2012 at Wheat State Manor in Whitewater. The celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the First Christian Church. Interment will follow in Sunset Lawns Cemetery. The casket will not be opened at the church.
Betty was born in Mexia, Texas, on Feb. 1, 1932 the daughter of Harold and Julia (Parrish) Jackson. She has lived most all of her adult life in Butler County. On May 29, 1962 she was united in marriage to Richard W. “Willie” Leedy in Miami, Okla. She worked a number of years as a C.N.A. Ward Clerk at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the First Christian Church. She loved animals and fishing with her husband Willie. God’s creation of nature truly amazed her.
Surviving family include: her husband, Willie of the home; one son, Mike Lee of El Dorado; daughters, Reita (Corey) Nipper of Potwin and Cynde (Jerry) Gruver of El Dorado; a sister in law, Irene Parrish of San Diego, Calif.; and a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her step father, one son and two brothers.
