A. Lucile (Tanner) Collins Blankenship

On Jan. 29, 2010, A. Lucile (Tanner) Collins Blankenship, left this world to be reunited with loved ones gone before her.  Lucile was the matriarch of a five generation family and will be greatly missed. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Carlson Funeral Home, El Dorado. Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow the funeral in Sunset Lawns.

She was born on Sept. 2, 1920 in Cainsville, Mo.m the daughter of Herbert E. and Audie (Hart) Tanner. She graduated from Cainsville High School and then received a teaching certificate.  She was married to Max Collins on April 15, 1939 in Cainsville and he preceded her in death on Sept. 25, 1970. She later was married to Harold Blankenship, he also preceded her in death in March of 1987.  After the death of her husband she worked at McDonald Department Store in downtown El Dorado.  She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church; Eastern Star; Grandmothers Club; PTA; and loved to crochet, garden and especially being with her family.

Those who survive are: daughters, Marcia Guy and husband Gerald of El Dorado and Trudy Claycamp and husband Duane of Augusta; a  daughter-in-law, Bertha Collins of Hooker, Okla.; her grandchildren, Michelle (Peter) Helten of Augusta, Robert (Kelly) Ward of Wichita, Jeff (Karla) Claycamp of Wichita, Michael (Amy) Ward of El Dorado, Shannon Martinez of Wichita and David Collins of Silver Lake; four step-grandchildren, Jeff (Liana) Guy, Andrea (Chris) Guynn, Jeremy Guy and Cherry (Clay) Rider of Hooker, Okla.; great-grandchildren, Aaron (Kristie) Haskell of Augusta, Kristi Haskell of Olathe, Tyler and Taylor Ward of Wichita, Madison and Kameron Ward of El Dorado, Dillon Collins of Silver Lake, Kinsley and Landon Claycamp of Wichita, Tanner Martinez of Wichita, and one on the way, Noah Michael Ward; and eight step-great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren including Easton Head, Olathe and Payton, Kinleigh and Brody Haskell of Augusta.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Charles Collins; and a brother, Junior Tanner.
