OBITUARY - DJ McClure

DJ McClure, 64, born in Formosa, Ark., April 26, 1946, passed away peacefully surrounded by his wife and family at home on Aug. 13. He was the proud owner of McClure’s Body Shop for 30 years, on Sixth Street in El Dorado.  He is survived by his wife, Samm; sons, Todd (Kathy) and Tommie (Correna); daughter, Cherrida Williams (Scott); stepchildren, Donny Scott and Samantha Camp (Cassidy); 11 grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Moore and Charlene Dugan; and  brothers, Darrell and Roy.  Preceded by his parents, Charlie and Velma; sisters, Gracie McClure, Joann Hill and Bobbie Helton; brother, Virgle. D.J. was a veteran of the Vietnam War, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends, boating, barbequing and camping. He was a  member of Latham Community Church.  A celebration of life service will be held in his honor at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Train Depot, 430 N. Main, El Dorado.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established to Samm McClure to assist the family with incurred  expenses from his three year battle with cancer.
