“Johnny” Harold Wayne Daniels, 69, of El Dorado, died Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2010 at St. Francis Hospital, Wichita. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday. Visitation with the family will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, both at Carlson Funeral Home. Interment will follow the funeral services in Sunset Lawns Cemetery, El Dorado.
“Johnny” was born to Roy Daniels and Lois Neal Daniels on May 4, 1941 in Harrison, Ark. He was one of 11 children. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Clyde Daniels and Dolan Daniels; a sister, Niva Jo Riggs; and both his parents.
He moved to El Dorado in 1956 and was married to his wife Shirley Andrew on May 29, 1959. They celebrated 51 years of marriage. He worked for McClure Waggy Ford, Lewis & West Concrete, and then owned and operated his own trucking company, Daniels Trucking, for 30 years until retirement. He enjoyed Royals Baseball, fishing and camping. He was an amazing father to four children, Cathy Fishel, Robert Daniels and wife Christine, Lois Daniels and Regina Daniels, all of El Dorado.
His wife Shirley of the home also survives. Ten grandchildren, John R. Daniels, Christopher Johnston, Brett Fishel, David Daniels, Wade Fishel, George McAvoy, Tyler Fishel, Austin McAvoy, SadieDaniel and MaKayla Daniels, and four great-grandchildren, Robert Daniels, Tristin Daniels, Alexa Daniels and Kira Ann Fishel also survive. “Johnny” is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Helen Cundell of El Dorado; Billy Gene Daniels of Harrison, Ark; Marietta White of Towanda; and Minnie Greenhaw, Jerry Daniels, Sue Simmons, and Donna Holcomb, all of Harrison, Ark.
