Lance P. Smith, 53, of El Dorado, died Saturday, Aug. 14, 2010 as the results of an automobile accident. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Carlson Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Sunset Lawns Cemetery.
He was born on Nov. 11, 1956 in El Dorado, the son of Joe and Lois (Clark) Smith. He attended school in both Emporia and El Dorado, and graduated from El Dorado High School. Lance was self-employed and did yard work. He was a member of Feast of Life Church of God In Christ.
Those who survive include: his mother, Lois Carter of El Dorado; brothers, Anthony of Winfield, Don of Emporia and Danny of New York; sisters, Ava and Faylene, both of Wichita, and Tracy of Virginia; sons, Corey, Alton, Timmy, Lance and Tevin; daughters, Lacey, Alta and Lanae; five grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Memorials in his memory to help with the funeral expenses may be left with Carlson Funeral Home, which is in charge of the services.
