OBITUARY - Lorrita F. Orndorff

Lorrita F. Orndorff, 72, died Thursday, Feb. 25, 2010 at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Carlson Funeral Home.  Cremation has preceded the services.

She was born on Aug. 31, 1937 in El Dorado, the daughter of Ernest and Eula (Pike) Calvert. She graduated from El Dorado High School and Butler Community College.  Lorrita was a registered nurse, had worked at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital, was Director of Nursing at Beverly Rehabilitation in El Dorado and had taught CNA classes in Augusta.

On Aug. 31, 1957 she and Richard Orndorff were united in marriage in Miami, Okla. She spent all her life in El Dorado and was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church.  She loved to sew and make memory bears for people who had lost loved ones; traveling in their RV; and camping, fishing, hunting, bowling and watch old movies.  She was always there to help family and friends, and especially loved her children and grandchildren.  She was the glue that kept everybody together.

Those who survive including her husband of the home are: her children and their spouses, Casandra and Greg Cost of Whitesboro, N.J., Vernon and Cynthia Orndorff of Palm Coast, Fla., and Lorra and Brad Gillis of El Dorado; her mother, Eula Calvert of El Dorado; 10 grandchildren; many other loving family members; and her dog Abby.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ernest; brother, Ernie; and twin sister, Annita.

Memorials in her memory for the Nursing Scholarship at Butler Community College or Victory in the Valley may be left with Carlson Funeral Home, El Dorado which has charge of the arrangements.  Condolences to the family can be sent to www.carlsoncolonial.com.
