Doris D. Siegrist, 87, of El Dorado, died on March 17, 2010 in El Dorado. Mass at St. John’s Catholic Church will be held at 10 a.m. Monday. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 9:30, also at the Church. Interment will follow in Sunset Lawns Cemetery.
Doris was born on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, 1923 in Chickasha, Okla., the daughter of Daniel L. and Carra L. (Jones) Smith. She graduated from El Dorado High School and was a homemaker and along with her husband was the owner and operator of Wagon Wheel Antiques, which they operated for 35 years. On Jan. 2, 1942 Doris and Charles Siegrist were married at St. John’s Church. He preceded her in death on Aug. 18, 1996. Doris came to El Dorado in 1930, making El Dorado her home for the past 80 years. She was an antique collector and dealer, and loved to travel. She enjoyed trips on the Alcon Hiway to Alaska and California to visit their sons. She also enjoyed reading and spent many happy moments with her children and grandchildren and family.
Those who survive include: her children and their spouses, Dr. Gerald R. and Jonnie Siegrist of Valdosta, Ga., Judy and David Kuttler of El Dorado, Terry and Terry Siegrist of El Dorado; eight grandchildren, Jennifer, Joanna, Angie, David Jr., Andrew, Tammy, Todd and Tiffani; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Doris was also preceded in death by her parents and a sister.
