OBITUARY - George Albert Worrell, Jr.

George Albert Worrell, Jr., 68, of Leon, died at his home in Leon, Friday, Feb. 26, 2010. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Leon Methodist Church. Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Carlson Funeral Home, El Dorado.  Interment will follow the funeral services in Leon Cemetery.

He was born on Jan. 7, 1942, the son of George Albert and Virginia Rose (Boley) Worrell, Sr. He spent all his life in the Leon area and graduated from Leon High School. George had sold feed for Ralco Feeds. He had attended Ark City College for a couple of years, but didn’t graduate.

He loved shooting clay, gardening, watching wrestling, hunting, drag racing, tools and helping other people.

Those who survive are: a daughter, Chelsea of Leon; a son, Ryan and wife Bre’De of Augusta; brothers and their spouses, John and Sandra Worrell of Leon, Steve and Susan Worrell of Wichita, and Dave and Nancy Worrell of Andover; an aunt, Helen Boley of Derby; a step-daughter and husband, Tina and Jeff Warren of El Dorado; a step-son and wife, Kenny and Tammy Hunnell of Halstead; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by both parents and a brother Dent E. Worrell.
