Betty was born Oct. 2, 1931 in Cotton Valley, La., the daughter of Johnnie Drew and Ruby Brunson. Betty was raised by two very special maternal grandparents, Roy and Burnette Britton. They came to El Dorado when she was in the seventh grade. She graduated from El Dorado High School with the Class of 1950. She was married to her high school sweetheart Robert (Bob) Holladay on Jan. 27, 1951. After her husband Bob returned from Korea, they settled in El Dorado and raised two children. She was employed through the years at Farm and Home, Oil Hill Industries, Boeing and Gross Supply. She preferred being a full-time homemaker. She loved being envolved in all her childrens activities. She often commented how much fun four generations can have with their games, singing, laughter and just being together. She enjoyed traveling and camping with her husband. She spent a lot of time sewing, needle point, arts and crafts and yardwork.
Surviving family include: her husband, Robert; one son, Robert Holladay, Jr. and his wife Mary of Yates Center; daughter, Marte Jo Werle and husband Jeff of North Liberty, Iowa; half sisters, May Brunson of Benton, La., and Clara Riech of Shreveport, La.; half brother, Johnnie Brunson of Benton, La.; the love of her life her grandchildren, Mindi, Nicole, Robert, Michael, Chelse, and Traci; 13 great-grandchildren and one on the way; special friends, Dana Jordan and Lisa Willhite; and many precious nieces and nephews. She always tried to be a good wife, mother and grandmother to the family she loved.
