Ruth Lenoir “Babe” Moss, 90, of El Dorado, died Feb. 3, 2010 at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital.

The celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Kirby-Morris Funeral Home. Burial will follow the services in the Cumberland Cemetery near Augusta.

Mrs. Moss was born Nov. 24, 1919 in Stratford, Texas, the daughter of Fred G. and Ruth (Taylor) Foxworth. She moved to Augusta, when she was 7 years old and graduated with the Class of 1938 from the Augusta High School. She continued her education at Butler County College. On Jan. 19, 1940 she was married to Richard Dick Moss in Augusta. After he returned from service in WWII, they moved to El Dorado. For many years she worked at USD 490 and the Moss Grocery Store. Babe loved taking care of her yard and her roses. She was an avid reader and loved attending sporting events and playing bridge.

Surviving family include: one son, David R. Moss of El Dorado; one daughter, Mary Bolack of Tulsa, Okla.; two grandchildren, Jerry and David; and two great grandchildren, Brookland and Adrian. She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers, one sister, and a grandchild, Bill. Kirby-Morris Funeral Home is assisting the family with their arrangements
