There are people who live in this world who personify what it means to be good. People who work hard to make the world a better place. Many times they're not even noticed. They do their job to the best of their ability, often times doing much more than is necessary to make sure the job is done right. Beyond what they do in their jobs, they go out of their way to help others, giving more than they can afford to, to make sure others have what they need. They treat others better than they are treated. You probably know someone like this, they could be a relative, a house keeper or the nice woman who helps take care of your mother. Sometimes it seems that even though there are people working hard they can't seem to get ahead. While the value of their services are priceless, the world, fate or just plain bad luck seems to be against them. Although they struggle though, they do what is right everyday of their life, something is always there to kick them back down.

Margie Call is an example of this type of person. She raised three kids on her own. Margie has worked most of her life, sometimes three jobs at a time to support her family. Whether it be in private homes or in nursing homes, she has always gone the extra mile to make sure her patients are comfortable and well cared for, treating them with dignity and respect. She takes great pride in her profession. Now at almost 60 years of age, she works full time as a med-aide. Margie has been serving others most of her life, and has touched many lives.

The middle of May she awoke to find burglars in her house. This was not the first, second or even the third time her house had been vandalized. This time the back door was ripped off, they also took many of her possessions including our mothers wedding band. Just minutes after she had finished filing a police report she received a phone call from her doctor’s office. The doctor needed to discus her results from her recent test. Two days later she was told that she had uterine cancer. In June she had an hysterectomy and she has been diagnosed with uterine and stage two cervical cancer. She doesn't have insurance to pay for the treatment, or the funds to pay for living expenses while she is recovering.

Two days later she was told that she had uterine cancer. In June she had an hysterectomy and she has been diagnosed with uterine and stage two cervical cancer. She doesn't have insurance to pay for the treatment, or the funds to pay for living expenses while she is recovering.

Unfortunately because she has a job, even though she will be off on medical leave for a while and she lives paycheck to paycheck, she is ineligible for many of the services that should be able to help her.

Although she has received a little help to pay some of the costs of the treatment and some of her living expenses for the first month, she still needs assistance. Including her medical bills and expenses for the remainder of her treatment and time off work. Because of the recent break-ins and damage to her home she doesn't even have anything she can sell to pay off these expenses. She needs help and her family is asking for some financial assistance. A fund has been set up to help her with the cost and expenses.

If you'd like to help Margie you can make a donation in her name at the Bluestem Credit Union, 1407 W. Central Ave.,  El Dorado, KS 67042.  Thank you for any help!

Sincerely,
The Family of Margie Call
