Dear Editor,
I know it is usual that patents try to help their children, but for some time some of my children have helped me keep my house in good repairs.
I know God says "Be anxious for nothing." I knew I was being too anxious about repairs that were going to have to be made before too long. I knew there were companies around that could do the repairs, but I wasn't sure where to start.
Then there was an ad in the Shoppers. I called.
I became concerned after I had given him half the money and things were going very slow.
I knew no company address and the only phone number was a cell phone number.
Things improved the work was done slower than was said. I paid the rest of the money, and was glad to have it over.
A few weeks later the weather changed and I found I was in big trouble.
The work was defective and the contractors would do nothing.
I found the contractor had done the same thing to many people in and around El Dorado.
I found the contractor never gets a building permit and that is the only law he breaks. It is the only thing the city can punish him for. Every thing else is "Let the buyer beware."
Now I have had other repairs made and never ask to see the building permit but I knew where the company office was and they had a land phone.
I would say make sure the contractor gets a building permit to be safe.
When I was growing up, I heard it said business men like this were "tarred, feathered and ran out of town on a rail" by the affected people. They weren't talking about rails like BNSF or Missouri Pacific.
Now it is up to me to find where to get money to have my house re-shingled. Be sure he treats old and young alike.
I wrote the State Attorney and was told "no one else has complained, get an attorney."
I had already been told getting an attorney would not help.
How about other people that have had to have their houses re-shingled let the State Attorney know?
It may not get money but now I would go for a long jail sentence.
