To the Editor:
Here at United Way of the Plains, we’re in the business of helping people. That means that we’re also in the business of finding out where it hurts. That is why we recently mailed out important surveys –Community Needs Assessments, we call them – to area residents in Butler County.
The surveys take stock of local social services and tell us the level of health and income needs in your households and neighborhoods. Your input helps United Way to identify unmet needs in Butler County, provide information to volunteers and government agencies, and ensure that the most urgently needed programs are funded. If we’re missing something, or someone, these surveys will tell us.
We know that each dollar given to United Way is hard earned and we have a responsibility to make sure those dollars are well spent. And we have the responsibility to make sure that our neighbors in need are well served. These surveys help us do that.
If you received a Community Needs Assessment in the mail, please take the time to fill it out and return it. Help us help you.
