For years, Derek Schmidt has represented our community in the Kansas Senate. He has been a strong leader for us in Southeast Kansas.
More important, he is a good person and a good neighbor. We watched Derek grow up and now we know him as an active leader in our town. We're proud of him.
Derek is running as a Republican for Kansas attorney general this year. As Independence residents, who have known him most of his life, as parents and as Kansas Republicans, we hope you will join us in voting for him. Derek is the kind of public servant we need in Kansas.
