It was a sobering experience

Dear Editor,
Hoot Owl Lane was a five mile stretch of road leading to our old Missouri farm I used to drive once in awhile. Completely canopied by trees, barely wide enough for once car and no houses the whole five miles.
At 2 a.m. it was a sobering experience for a 14 year old going home – especially since my older brother had taken me to see “I Was a Teenage Werewolf” in Quincy, Ill. My first and last horror movie!
In those quiet times I came to trust in Jesus and how He answers prayer and comforts. Our old country preacher in our neighborhood church talked about heaven and hell being forever and ever...but that Jesus, God’s son, died on a cruel Roman cross for our sins and if we would confess our sins and ask forgiveness He would save us for eternity. All we need do is trust Him. Please don’t slip into eternity without Jesus.
