To the Editor,
Yes, "celebrate freedom and heritage." I can't say it any better than John Adams. I quote, "The 4th of July. it ought to be commemorated as a day of deliverance, by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty, it ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires and illuminations, from one end of the continent to the other, from this time forward for ever more."
No one can say it any better. It seems like half the country has forgot their heritage, and by the way, if those political ads make you get that old ball and powder musket off the wall to shoot your high def TV. Remember it was our great-great-great-grandparents "military weapon" so shouldn't all peace-loving, God-fearing, law-abiding Americans be as well armed as our enemies with today's weapons?
When our family gets together after church, on the 4th we will share a lot of good food, home made ice cream, shoot a lot of fireworks, shoot a few clays, punch a few holes in paper with our 22s, 45s and ARs, just like John Adams said to.
