The El Dorado Middle School 7th grade girls basketball team’s season ended on Saturday in a 37-33 overtime defeat to Mulvane Middle School.
Games are won and games are lost by the free throws that go in or don’t go in the basket.  As a team, El Dorado shot 42 free throws on Saturday and only made 11.  Mulvane on the other hand made 15 of 27 and won in overtime 37-33.
“Every coach at every practice speaks about the importance of free throws.  Every coach at every practice gives his players the opportunity to shoot free throws,” said coach Les Limon. “Our girls played well but could not hit their free throws.”
Mikala Ruff led the scoring with 12 points, followed by Sidney Howland, 7, Sydney Harper, 6, and Colbi Phillips with 5. Jolie Howland added two points and  Caedyn Reinhardt had a point.
“This ended our season and gives us areas that we need to work on in order to be more competitive,” said Limon.
