Remington defeats Bennington 62-54
The Broncos used double digit scoring from Caleb Cherryholmes, Caleb Tanner and Kyle Regier to drop Bennington on Friday night.
Cherryholmes led the Remington attack with 18 points, including 4 three-pointers and going 4-4 from the line. Tanner scored 16 points on 7 makes and went 2-2 from the charity stripe. Regier had 13 points on 5 makes and 3-4 from the line for the Broncos.
Remington erupted offensively in the second quarter for 22 points to take a 35-28 lead at halftime and never looked back.
Bennington fought back in the third quarter, scoring 14 points and only allowing the Broncos 9 points, but Remington still maintained a 2-point lead going into the fourth.
The Broncos popped off another 18 points in the fourth to pace Bennington to the 62-54 final.
Paul Janzen added 7 points for the Broncos and Tim Wedel scored 6 points as well.
Bluestem boys dropped by Trinity Academy 64-39
Trinity opened up the game with 18 points in the first quarter building a comfortable lead on the Lions by allowing Bluestem only 9 points in the first.
Bluestem fought back in the second, scoring 11 points and slowing Trinity to 10 points close the gap to 28-20 at the halftime buzzer.
Trinity took control of the game for good in the third with its highest scoring quarter of the game with 23 points. The Lions offense could not keep pace and managed just 7 points in the quarter. Trinity, up 51-27 going into the fourth, cruised the rest of the way to victory over the Lions.
Leading the Lions offensively was Blake Bolander who scored 11 points including one three-pointer. Cade Minnick had 9 points for Bluestem and went 3-4 from the line. Cody Lewis poured in 8 points on 4 makes. Travis Farthing scored 5 points and Ty Young had 4 points, all from the line.
Berean handles Inman at home for sweep
The Warriors defeated Inman in both girls and boys games on Friday night. The Warriors boys won 45-36.
Casey Wiebe had 10 points for Berean including two three-pointers. Daniel Claassen also had 10 points including one three-pointer and went 1-2 from the line. Cameron Ruit poured in 9 points on three three-pointers. Josh Hoover had 9 points going 2-4 from the line and added a three-pointer.
The Warriors maintained a 4-point 27-23 lead at halftime. The Warriors took control for good in the third, scoring 8 points and shutting out Inman for the entire quarter. Berean cruised with 10 more points in the fourth to claim the 9 point victory.
The Lady Warriors used balanced team scoring to dismantle Inman 50-17.
Leading the Warriors in scoring was Kayla Wilgers with 9 points on three three-pointers. Makayla Ladwig had 7 points. Xannie Quiring, Wynette Sommerfeld, Mallory Zuerder, Carrie Wiebe and Libby Wilte each dropped in 6 points a piece for the Warriors.
The Warriors jumped on top of Inman 16-2 in the first and paced Inman the rest of the game. Berean locked it down defensively, not allowing Inman into double digits in scoring in the first half as Berean led 26-8 at halftime. Inman could only muster 9 points for the entire second half as the Berean defense and offense proved too much.

Lady Mustangs lose on the road at Udall
Udall won decisively beating Flinthills 51-28 on Friday night. Udall went up on the Mustangs 12-7 after one and built a 10-point lead going into halftime over the Mustangs at 27-17.
Flinthills and Udall exchanged blows in the third, both scoring 6 points. Udall erupted in the fourth to put the game on ice, scoring 18 points and allowing the Mustangs only 5 points to close out the ball game.
Jamie Bell led the Mustangs offensively with 10 points, including two assists. Bell nabbed 3 boards and had a steal as well.
Tara Kemp had 7 points and 5 rebounds. Kellie Naill had 5 points, 7 rebounds and an assist. Taylor Thompson added 4 points and 4 rebounds. Bayley Reiswig had 5 assists and 8 boards on the night.
