Demel qualifies for State Golf Meet

El Dorado, Kan. - El Dorado will be represented at this year’s Class 4A State Boys’ Golf Tournament, thanks to a very strong round by Cale Demel at the 4A Regional Tournament at Prairie Trails Country Club Monday.
Demel fired a 78 under very windy conditions to finish third individually at the regional meet to qualify for the State Meet. The top two teams and top five individuals from non-qualifying teams advanced to State.
Andover (322) and Andover Central (328) qualified their teams for State. Rounding out the field were Hesston (345), Augusta (346), Wellington (355), El Dorado (371), Circle (394), Mulvane (416), Rose Hill (435) and Clearwater (445).
Tyler Briscoe had the next best score for the Wildcats with an 86. Brandon Craft shot a 101, Ryan Nuessan shot a 105, Tristan Connell carded a 123 and Johnny Brown shot a 127.
This year’s Class 4A State Meet will take place at Stagg Hill Golf Course in Manhattan next Monday.
