The Circle Thunderbirds recorded the most points in a game this season in holding off the Buhler Crusaders 66-60 in AV-CTL interdivision action at Hanson Court.
Circle led 14-8 in the opening quarter and continued to score against the Buhler defense for their second win in a row against Division III opponents.
Jordan Phillips scored 19 points to lead the T-Birds (8-5) and Brett Tunnell added 15 in the win.
Allen scored 13 points to lead Buhler (6-6, while Ternel and Givens added 12 points apiece in the loss, the Crusaders’ fifth straight setback.
Berean Academy 47,
Goessel 37
ELBING — The Warriors used a 17-4 third quarter to blow open the game in Heart of America League action.
Goessel made only one field goal in the stanza as Berean extended a three-point halftime lead to 16 by the end of the stanza. It was the second victory for the Warriors over Goessel in two weeks.
Josiah Busenitz led Berean (11-1) with 12 points, while Caleb Hoover scored eight in the win. Aaron Reimer led Goessel with 13 points.
Flinthills 72,

COTTONWOOD FALLS — The Mustangs scored 11 points in overtime to record the road victory over the Bulldogs.
Garrett Breech scored 26 points to lead Flinthills (3-10), while Reece Arnold added 11 in the win.
Chase County (4-9) outscored Flinthills 25-12 in the final quarter to set up overtime.

Canton-Galva 30
CANTON — The Broncos outscored Canton-Galva 16-5 in the second quarter to build a 17-point halftime lead on the way to their Heart of America League victory.
Jake Green scored 24 points to lead the Broncos (7-6), while Caleb Cherryholmes added 12.
Goessel 64,
Flinthlls 48
GOESSEL — The Bluebirds broke open the game with a 36-point second half to record the Monday win over the Mustangs.
Trent Stands scored 12 for Flinthills, while Kyle Vogt added 11 and Garrett Breech 10.

Wichita Independent 45
WICHITA — The Lady Lions held off the upset challenge of Independent in the Central Plains League battle.
Demi Metcalf led Bluestem (8-6) with 19 points; while Imani Fenner led Independent with 14, whose team falls to 2-12 on the season.
Circle 60, Buhler 44
TOWANDA — The Lady Thunderbirds outscored Buhler by five in the opening quarter and never looked back on the way to their AV-CTL interdivisional victory.
Circle (11-2) allowed only three baskets in both the first and second quarters to build an 11-point lead at halftime.
Kyrstie Ehm led the Lady T-Birds with 18 points, Hanna Flaming added 13 and Taci Richard 10 in the victory.
Berean Academy 36,
Goessel 32
ELBING — The Lady Warriors recorded the Heart of America League victory in a defensive showdown with the Lady Bluebirds.
Janelle Rust led Berean with 14 points in the victory.
Remington 29,
Canton-Galva 19
CANTON — The Lady Broncos outscored the hosts 13-3 in the opening quarter and allowed only three points after halftime to record the victory in the defensive Heart of America League showdown.
Quin Tillotson scored 11 points to lead Remington (11-3) and Jessi Green added 10 in the win. It was the Lady Broncos’ second victory over Canton-Galva in less than a week.
Tara Scott led Canton-Galva with 11 points.

Flinthills 18
GOESSEL — The Lady Mustangs were outscored 39-4 in the first half Monday night as they remain winless on the season.
Hope Harsh led Flinthills (0-12) with 10 points.
