Brown’s push toward success

Alex and Brittany Brown have proven to be assets for their respective teams this season.

For the Brown family, athletic success on the court comes from two distinctly different sports.

Brittany Brown (EHS graduate) is now a volleyball star at Lynn University in  Alabama, where she grabbed All-Conference Honors for the Knights.

Brittany earned second team all-conference accolades as well as a spot on the all-newcomer team. She also was runner-up in the newcomer of the year voting.

Brittany finished the season with 351 kills, a .325 hitting percentage and 3.38 kills per set. She also tallied 40 service aces, the second most for one season in school history.

Brittany additionally collected 14 solo blocks and 78 total clocks, averaging 0.75 blocks per set on the year. 

In her first year on Lynn University’s volleyball team, junior middle blocker  Brown earned 2011 Daktronics All-South Region Second Team honors as well.
Brittany will return to Lynn as a senior looking to build upon her first year successes.

For younger brother and senior at El Dorado High School Alex Brown, his succses have been found on the Wildcat basketball team.

Alex has settled in as the Wildcats’ big man in the paint and has made his living grabbing offensive and defensive boards for the Wildcats as well as giving El Dorado a post presence down low on the offensive boards.

Alex continues to put up  close to double figures in points and also in rebounds night in and night out for the Wildcats.

“It is great to see Alex do well this season. I remember how important my high school games were in my time at EHS,” said Brittany.
